In 1989, a scholarship was established for student athletes who share the same traits and values of Ernie Davis and his high school coach, Marty Harrigan. Applicants are asked either to develop a project that raises awareness about Ernie's legacy or to volunteer for 44 hours while spreading the word. The scholarship is administered by the Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes, Inc.

Ernie Davis Statue
The Ernie Davis Statue is located in front of Ernie Davis Academy at 933 Hoffman Street. Here, “Ernie Davis Plaza” is built exactly 44 feet back from the street and the new pedestal it stands on is exactly 44” square and 44” tall.
Support is needed to maintain the memorial plaza and statue that will commemorate Ernie Davis for years to come. Donations can be made to the Statue Fund through the Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning, and the Finger Lakes, Inc.
